I've read that, he's moding the high pass filter for shootouts caused by bass/low freqs.
Dunno if that helps, I'll email the maker of mpxtool to ask if that affects the phase between the pilots. Anyone know Lief's email address?

@ eldoradofm : there was still phase issue using the external stereocoder

That "overshots" are because bad TILT, (phase) ;)
When TILT (phase) is bad (like on M-Audio AP), oversohts are on Lows most 'visible'.
That's why 40, 50 or 60Hz sqare tone is used, for checking and measuring.

I *au* agree *au* with *au* Bojcha: *au* Most *au* likely *au* the *au* sound card.

(Sorry, I just broke my toe about an hour ago. It hurts! Lef, I'll read your post when I'm not too distracted by my toe anymore... But if you have proper measuring equipment, such as an Pira, you *should* be able to do the whole calibration with the settings that are available.

Where was the rds signal coming from then?

@Hans: I wish you a quick recovery.

I suppose something has to do with the soundcard.

Hans, I hope you're much better with the toe accident.
Just for the info: I've posted on Leif's forum about the card and the modification, asking if a modified Maudio 192 would help on the phase problem. He said it won't.

So everything goes to a dead end to me. Can't find a solution. :roll: :(

I don't see the dead end. Just try the things we mentioned earlier in this thread.

My conclusion so far is:
You say you still have the problem using an external stereo coder. So i'm guessing it's a stereo coder with RDS?
So then you can rule out stereo tool / soundcard.
So only things left then are STL or the transmitter.
And you can rule out the STL by connecting a stereo/rds encoder straight to the transmitter. From soundcard or external coder with RDS.
But as far as i know that's not tried.

The problem appears again using the external stereocoder (it supports RDS) but only if I use ST as the processing software. If I use MBL or even Soundsolution, the phase is almost 0deg.
So I cannot rule out ST completely. I believe that the STL and the TX are okey since I get a clean phase as I wrote before.
Currently I cannot connect the stereo/rds coder directly to the TX because of the current setup and some difficulties at the transmission location.
Anyway, I'm having this issue on hold for the moment. I'll try many things on the following days as I'm waiting for a new exciter. I'll let you know on my findings.

@Lef,
Try the following Lowpass filter=16500
Set it to 16000 or for testing try it at 15000

16500 is pretty high because in theory the edge off the RDS is at 57000-2400=54600
So max in theory is then 54600-38000=16600.
But i already see problems on my tuner when i use settings higher then 16290.

I don't know how sharp the filtering of the pira is but 16500 is getting pretty close and could give this phase issue.
