Post subject:  Asus Xonar DX pci-e

Hi,
I Prepare a new server with Win10.
I had problem after some hours with one of my ESI Juli@ sound card.
I have buy a new pci-e Asus Xonar DX sound card. Max Sampling Rate: 24-bit/192kHz, SNR: 116dB
But, I'm not able to have FM output at 192Khz.
I set 192Khz into windows control panel, Xonar control interface and into Steretool, but nada.
Do you have experience with this card ? otherwise go back to amazon.
Endly I use for the moment the sound card of the mother board, but I'm not sure it's the best quality ?

Yes Bojcha, and also into Xonar Panel.
I have read in topics below than Xonar DS was not working. It seems it's also the case for Xonar DX
On my second transmitter site I use a Xonar D2X without problem since many years, but the price is not the same ;-)

For the moment I use the Realtek on-board sound card, but it's may be an idea, but I have the felling than bass were better with better sound card.
With this sound card, when setting 1000Khz to 75Khz deviation, I had more than 150Khz deviation at 60Hz Smooth square. I need to put FM Tilt correction to maximum +5,000µs to go below 87Khz at this frequencie.
To be honnest, I don't know witch sound choose at relative good price (below 200€) in pci or pci-e and compatible with Windows 10.

Those numbers are really rediculous, if I set 1000 Hz to 75 kHz modulation then I get peaks to about 90 kHz if I play a 5 Hz square wave. With simple calibration using the 'RC' slider I can get that down to 76 kHz. 150 kHz must mean that either you have a really bad realtek or your transmitter is broken/bad.

Thanks Hanz for explanation,
For the moment the new server is in test at home with a cheap exciter (3w) in my garage to be sure that all is ok and stable before to go to transmitter site (in the top of the water tower, not easily accessible).
In this case I'll re-check and tune on the real transmitter.

Hi,
To see if deviation comes from the exciter or Realtek card, I have re-insert my Esi Juli@.
With Esi Juli@ without Tilt Correction at 60Hz I have deviation of 85Khz (when calibrate at 75Khz with 1Khz sine). With tilt correction of 26µs I reduce to 76Khz :-)
The sound seems also to be better in the headset ;-)

Now I need to monitor to see If I have again sound problem after hours with my Esi Juli@. Cross our fingers ;-)

85 Hz for 60 Hz is still quite high I think... I can calibrate my Realtek to not exceed 76 kHz at 10 Hz, and that's with about 140,000 RC value.
