I"ve been running ST on WinXP-32 using the Axia Livewire AoIP driver - no problems.

I'm upgrading to put ST on a new Win7-64, using the latest Win7-64bit version of the Axia driver. I've found that ST will allow me to set the Axia driver as the Sound Card Input and Normal output device. My problem is that ST does not store/remember Axia as the input device, as it defaults to Microsoft Sound Mapper when ST is closed and restarted. It does however remember/store the Axia output device.

I tried Axia ASIO mode - no difference.

If I change the input device to the Julia or M-Audio card, ST remembers those both ok between ST re-starts, but as soon as I select any Axia input device (Livewire In 01 TO Livewire 08) it won't save/remember/reload that when ST starts, always defaulting to Microsoft Sound Mapper.

BBP Demo does recall the input, and shows the full device name as: Livewire In 01 (AXIA IP-Driver (WDM))
In XP, the device name is different and appears as: Axia 01

Using latest beta2

Cheers Aaron

Odd. Can you check your ini file (normally C:\Documents and Setttings\username\stereo_tool.ini or C:\users\uername\stereo_tool.ini) to see if the name is stored correctly?

If the name changes (and that might be an invisible change such as adding a space to the name), Stereo Tool won't recognize it and will go to the default value.

Hi Hans.

Looks like the Input & Normal Output Livewire devices are stored in a similar format in the ini file - but only the output device is loaded properly on ST start.

After exiting ST: ST ini:

[ASIO]
ASIO Enabled=0
Sound card=Axia ASIO
[Soundcard - Normal output]
Enabled=1
Device ID=Livewire Out 01 (AXIA IP-Driver
Volume=0.109999999
Buffer size=1.052374959
ASIO Override channel 1=-1
ASIO Override channel 2=-1
[Soundcard - Input]
Device ID=Livewire In 01 (AXIA IP-Driver
Sample rate=192000
Buffer size=0
ASIO Override channel 1=-1
ASIO Override channel 2=-1
Tilt correction - Enabled=0
Tilt correction - RC=0.122661814
Tilt correction - Fade speed=0.100000001
[Soundcard - Input 2]
Enabled=0
Device ID=Microsoft Sound Mapper
ASIO Override channel 1=-1
ASIO Override channel 2=-1
Separate thread=0

In BBP when selecting a KS input format, it shows the device as: Axia Wave01
In BBP when selecting a DS input format, it shows the device as: Livewire In 01 (AXIA IP-Driver (WDM))
In BBP when selecting a Wave input format, it shows the device as: Livewire In 01 (AXIA IP-Driver
From the BBP ini file:
devicename_KS=\\?\root#media#0000#{6994ad04-93ef-11d0-a3cc-00a0c9223184}\wave01
devicename_Wave=\\?\root#media#0000#{6994ad04-93ef-11d0-a3cc-00a0c9223184}\wave01

Hi Hans.

I've just confirmed it effects both Win7-32 and Win7-64. Can't buy XP licences anymore :-(

Tested with ST Beta 60 and latest Axia AoIP driver.

Cheers AJ

Try to manualy write "output soundcard" in sts file, exactly how it is shown when you select it in Gui - And save.

That's a great suggestion thank you Bojcha.

In the GUI, it appears exactly as it is saved in the STS file extract shown in my earlier post. It is saving ok in the STS file, but ST just won't load it.

I have tried a range of edits to the input name in the STS file with no joy.

I can confirm that the NORMAL OUTPUT, FM OUTPUT and LOW LATENCY OUTPUT save/load ok with an Axia device.

It is both the INPUT and SCA INPUT that won't load an Axia device on startup.

Cheers AJ
