Hello,

I've an P4FSB1333-650 motherboard whit a realtek ALC888.
When I turn rds and stereo coding on in stereo tool, the stereo light turns on at my radio but no rds and also no stereo sound!
So i thought the sample rate isn't set at 192 khz. So i would change it in realtek sound manager, but i cant find the window whit the sample rate settings.
I've added a picture of my realtek sound manager, so you could see if I got the right setting window, right realtek manager (i think because i've just installed from the motherboard driver disk), software, etc.

Bojcha told me the alc888 should work with stereo and rds (as you could see at my earilier post), and looking at realtek's site the alc888 does support 192khz. Only i dont know how to set the alc888 at 192 khz, i couldn't find it at the sound manager.

Thanks in advance!

hi Honda

Yes, at default realtek works in 48kHz, so you can only get pilot tone which is enough only to turn on red stereo light on tuner. So,
First use latest drivers.. R3.27 - date 20.11.2009 (i see you have them)
http://www.realtek.com.tw/downloads/ - High Definition Audio Codecs (Software)

if i remember, There is little button in mixer or I/O settings, there you can select 192kHz. But on this picture there is not that button (!?)

Yes i know witch button you mean, but i couldn't find that one...
I've installed the newest driver from realtek's website (the same site you gave in your post) but didn't have the button either...

Is there maby an other option to get an output of 192 khz?
According to realtek, and according to my motherboard manual it has an 192khz output. But how do i turn it on?

thanks in advance agian,

I don't know if this works in XP, but in Vista here's one way of changing the settings:
- Go to Control Panel, select Sound
- In Playback, select Speakers (or whatever you use to playback the audio)
- Click Properties
- In the window that pops up, go to Advanced
- Here you can choose the "default format".

But does somebody have a program or something to change the sample rate?
Or an other solution for my problem?

Just to be sure:
- You are using Direct Soundcard Access OR the stand alone version?
- The left top panel in the FM config window reports that stereo and RDS info are sent out correctly?

Because if you cannot set it anywhere, then the application should be able to control the sample rate...

Note: You could also try the ASIO mode in the stand alone version, ASIO really takes control of the sound card and should override any preference set in the OS.

- I'm using the stand alone version,
- Yes, stereo tool says: sending to soundcard (probably ok)

I'll try ASIO mode tomorrow, but isn't a problem that my realtek isn't a ASIO card?
