Hi All,

I would like to try a Pi 3 and ST to encode an MPX signal.

I've read a little about it on this forum and around the internet, it seems some people have been able to achieve MPX encoding but not processing or vice-versa.

It would be great to hear some suggestions on what hardware and what success others have had using a Pi for MPX encoding.

Many thanks

BeDazzler.

I wanted to run MPX and RDS encoding with composite clipping without any kind of pre-processing (that would be done on a separate machine feeding the internet stream, to which the Pi 3 would be connecting) but (at least with LXDE running) the Pi 3 was still a bit slow.
The Pi 4 might be powerful enough (and in the meantime Hans might optimize the code even more)

I realize this is a quote old thread, but I wanted to post that I've had excellent luck with the HiFiBerry DAC+ PRO XLR running the uMPX Decoder on a Pi 3. Be sure to order it's companion case for the Pi. It's metal and does a good job of keeping everything together and gives it some shielding. I'm using it in a high RF environment and am not having any issues. Also, it needed no tilt adjustments on the two units that I have built and tested.

With this being an output only card, the uMPX encoder and ST will have issue with it. I suspect the HiFiBerry folks will develop a input version if they get enough requests.

Amazon carries the board it and the case. You can also order directly off the hifiberry dot com website.

Apparently they received enough requests ;) https://www.hifiberry.com/shop/boards/h ... y-dac-adc/
We haven't tested it yet ourselves, though.

Hello, I use this card and can generate MPX on raspberry. We know the equipment is not strong when it comes to PI3, ODROID is already better. You have to compromise because the card buffer will be smaller, if many add-ons turn on, the most using processor is ADVACED CLIPPER

in the movie but you do not need to turn on "jackd -d .... etc"
now there is one script in bash that runs everything else two relays to control the transmitter
