Just experienced an interesting issue. Declipper is for the most part an amazing tool and can restore horribly compressed, therefore distorted songs, back into listenable ones.

But sometimes it's buggy. Just now, as Britney Spears' song Gimme More begun playing, the introductory kickdrum underwent so much 'peak restoration' in Stereo Tool that the output waveform had gigantic mountains, and all that was heard through speakers was 'pops' rather than kicks.

To work around this, I have reduced the 'maximum restored peak level' to 150%, from its previous 400%. I've never encountered this issue before, however. Is it a bug perhaps, or just the way the original song was compressed? Can others reproduce it? Anything else I can do to reduce this problem?

Stereo Tool 8.23.
