FYI - apparently there is an issue with suppliers and ESI cards at the moment.

I am in the process of sourcing a Julia XTe and our local supplier (Australia) has told me there is a battle over ownership of the name, bla bla and that getting Julia hardware is becoming increasingly difficult.

Are there any other cards people recommend ?

Thanks

i've been looking for a pci-e soundcard too. the juli@ xte seems to be problamatic for alot of suppliers since none of them have it on stock.
most have them on order but noone can say when they will have them.

seems like the only card that comes close to being affordable will be the marian seraph ad2
http://www.marian.de/en/products/seraph_ad2
was looking at the seraph 8 with 8 analog in/outputs but thats listed for around $800 US

google shopping only lists one reseller at 499 euro's
there are others but they dont list pricing

bummer since i just upgraded to a x99s mobo which has only PCI-E slots

Certainly not the "best" but definitely the cheapest:
Cmedia CM8828 based cards on e-bay for less than $30.
The clearly work, and play pretty well.
We have had a few issues with stability (Jack won't always start at 192 kHz [seems to be a settling problem] from boot).
Kill jackdbus and start over, and they work.
Also, we have had cards fail, but the last one has been in service on an FM station for 6 months.
But when they work....

AudioScience has a new 192 kHz card out. Not great analog frequency response but if you use MPX over AES it works great. More and more transmitters are supporting it!
