ImageThe plot shows the ST singleband compressor using detection = peak, threshold = -6dB, ratio = 6, attack = release = 1ms, knee = 0dB and window = 0dB or 2dB.

What I don't get are the gaps below the threshold on both sides between the green and the other curves. Where do they come from? Is that a bug?

Problem identified: With e.g. window = 2dB a symmetrical window ranging from -1dB to +1dB should be achieved. A direct implementation would easily accomplish that. However what Hans did was using a nonnegative window ranging from 0dB to 2dB and then shifting the result by -1dB. That's not the same: ST will always be off by -1dB below the threshold but not above.Image
