I just heard about the Pi2 from someone who's office is close to mine (we had lunch this afternoon and he told me that he ordered 3 yesterday). I need to look into this; the fact that it runs Windows might mean that I can simply compile the Windows version for it. But... there's no Intel library for it I think, so the performance might be problematic. (And it takes a lot of time to adjust the code to work without this library)

There is no Intel library, because it does not have Intel CPU .. on Pi2 is Broadcom ARM7 CPU. It can smoothly run Ubuntu Linux with default GUI and there are some rumours that Windows 10 is perfectly usable too, so the performance may be not as bad as look like.

I will gladly pay $10 or €10 as a part of price of Pi2 by Paypal donation, if you would need to buy one for testing.

The point is that for what I need, anything outside of the Intel liberary is at least a factor 3 slower in performance when doing FFT's. And I do a lot of those. Until version 4.22 I used my own implementation (which is actually pretty fast compared to most other libraries); the switch to soIntel made a huge difference though.

And because FFT's are nearly free with that lib I use them a lot, everywhere. So that's going to be a problem.

Well, I don't know yet. The new Pi seems to be 6 times as fast as the old one... I've never tested the old one but I would expect that it's not too slow compared to other pc's from recent dates (otherwise the previous version would have been unusable).

But, I need time to test it. And time is currently really an issue (as you may have noticed by the lack of updates the last few weeks).

Why not using a small laptop with a extern soundcard, like the M-audio Audiophile FW, for a car cinch connectors are fair enough.

I have a few Pi 2's from one of our booths at the IBC (lol I am at 2 booths this year), so I'm planning to look into this the next week or so. Can't promise anything yet...

(I'm joking. Thanks Hans, they're great devices but I wonder if the CPU will be able to cope, they're pretty underpowered!!)
