Has anyone built Stereo Tool in a rack mount system that has a display built in? If so, what did you use (URL appreciated)? I'm assuming an external keyboard and mouse would still be required but maybe not??

I would never use keybord or mouse..
It would be attached to local network ans over lan you can do anything, like remote. I would even put Wifi adapter so you can connect even like that.

And about case.. i use 2 PCs with ST at transmitter site. Case is nothing speciall.. but that's just case. i can replace that always.. but then.. what's the point :)

I sent you video in PM.

Thanks for the video...tight peak control. Is that with a Trace Alpha card?

If I put this at a remote transmitter site, there will probably not be a LAN there. Is there any way I can plug a laptop into the ST computer directly or will I need to bring a router along to allow the laptop to connect to ST? I have never attempted the use of the :8080 port. If a router is needed, I assume I just plug the ST computer and the laptop (or wirelessly connect) both into the router and use an address such as 192.168.1.101:8080 to connect? I may be able to familiarize myself with that tomorrow.

Not remote from ST. Honestly is little tricky to adjust things via http page.
Just install RealVNC Set Lan IP adress, something like 192.168.1.200 And you laptop 192.168.1.201. In VNC server set port and pass and connect from laptop via VNC viewer. Like remote Desktop just RealVNC works way better.
If you want wifi, put some wireless adapter in it set it to adhoc mode, set DHCP, some password for connection.. etc.. again connect with RealVNC.

(yea on video you saw PC with Marian Trace, other one is with Juli@ - also just fine :))

There wouldn't be any Internet Access available at the transmitter site. I did plug ST into my router and was able to get the Web Interface to work...this is great. So rather than worry about having a display on the ST computer itself, all I need is a wireless router and a laptop when I'm at the site. I like it. Thanks Bojcha!

Bob53, just to give you another option you might hunt for one of these handy monitor-and-keyboard-in-a-drawer thingies.

@oldiesstation: I see that it has a rather low resolution (800x480); I designed the Stereo Tool interface to work well at resolutions above 800x600... What will probably happen is that the lowest part of the display (the meters) disappears. Btw, I'm still planning to make a full-screen meters overview screen, once that's finished that problem is solved.
