I am not sure what is the best bitrate to use as well what format as I have both mp3 and wma.
Memory /CPU or available space are non-issues I have adequate.
After my RAID5(an older HDD died :( ) failure last week I went to RAID10 with new HDDs.

Hopefuly I get a reply from Hans to my email

It's of course best to store your music losslessly (eg, wav or flac).

I just replied.

DO NOT use MP3 or WMA or any other lossy format for storing music! The effect on the sound quality coming out of the processor is huge. Only use lossless, unless you can't get the audio in that format.

Thank you, I appreciate your reply/response

I am currently cataloging 1.3TB of music using for the large part TagRename something to keep me busy during the winter(snow has already fallen in the mountains or higher altitudes)
I am still trying to figure out why I am frequently getting artifacts at 4024 latency when at 1024 I am not.
In addition, I am not having issues using WMA looseless @1024

btw, with v8.12 I am seeing cpu usage 5%-7%

Oddly enough, I dont have any flac files. Would you care to send me a sample?

Rip some CD, install dBpoweramp, compress to FLAC.

If he has WMA lossless, what you're saying is useless (And, I think he mentions that). WMA is not only lossy but is also available in a lossless format.
