This software looks amazing but unfortuantely I am yet to try it as a sweep of the lastest download 4.21 is detailling a virus from 2 scanners.

They both advise a Eldorado Ad Trojan and so at the moment I am VERY hesitant to install this software. :o

The full sweep from VirusTotal is shown below and I would love to hear back form the devs as this does look like a great piece of kit but I dont want to compromise my system if a virus is present.

Thanks in advance.
Col.

Well, a trojan is not a virus, which means that it doesn't spread by itself. And I didn't put it in there, so I'm pretty sure that it's a false positive. It's not the first time that that has happened... The fact that only 2 scanners find it would also indicate that.

But, if you don't want to install this version 4.21 (which I can imagine), you could use the work-in-progress version listed on the following thread: viewtopic.php?f=6&t=644&start=110

I had never heard of VirusTotal, but I'll use it from now on before releasing new versions!

I expect to have a new version (4.22) ready by the end of this weekend.

Edit: AdAgent... So it's adware, not a trojan. Those also don't spread automatically.

Thanks for the prompt reply.

Well, trojan, virus or adware - I dont like nasty things on my PC so was worried.

Anyway, if you say you have not put anything into the files then of course I trust you and it must be a false positive.

VirusTotal is a great website and something I advise everyone to use. The limit of 10mb aplies to any files uploaded but it does seem to give accurate readings and I also agree that with just 2 giving warnings it does suggest a false positive.

I will go ahead and install the software as have been looking forward to trying it.

Cheers hvz :-)
