Hello all,

Got my Stereotool 7.3+ installed at Kubuntu 12.04 lts 32 bit with jack2.
But the speed of stereotool is very very slow, if i use it on windows xp it its 20 times faster.
I have stereo output and rds output on my receiver and that works great but, if i hear the sound its sounds not good got much disortion in the voice of the singer.
I need to move too linux because it is much more stable, i cant stay only for stereotool on Windows.

My Linux experience is beginner, but as i indicated the stereo part works great and rds output too.
But if you listen to the song when i am transmitting, the vocals of the music sound gruff. Seems to me as if that my computer is too slow that sort of sound. However Stereo Tool is already at min while I'm on windows can use it at full with not much delay atc.

All drivers are installed.
My setup is
Dual core 2.6
4 gb ddr 2
M-AUDIO Revolution 5.1 192 khz support GT 7600 vid

I hope someone can help me :)
Sorry for my bad english, i am dutch but not many dutch people has stereotool on linux installed so i try here.

Are you using a native Linux install or something in VMware? Because Jack doesn't work well in VMware and causes the CPU load to be huge (if you get it to work in the first place).

It might use a bit more CPU load than the Windows version (I'm using a different compiler), but the difference is not really big. So something else must be wrong. Can you run 'top' and check what is using the CPU? Maybe there are other things beside Stereo Tool there...
