 Post subject: Multiband Compressor

Darf ich mal höflich fragen, wo ich den neuen Kompressor konfigurieren kann? Weder die Anzahl an Bändern ist (für mich zumindest...) einstellbar, noch deren Frequenzen :?: :shock: :?: :o :?: .

Sie müssen die Betriebsart in Configuration -> Operation Mode -> Extreme Tweaker oder wollen.
Nach der Methode ist mehr oder weniger Steuerelemente aktiviert.

Although I wrote in German, I understand a little bit English as well... ;-)

I found the configuration, thanks. ;) But... it's placed tricky.

In the config file there are two multiband compressors ([Multiband Compressor] and [Multiband Compressor 3]). I changed for a short experiment the number of bands to 10 in MC3. Also I changes the frequencies to custom values (I didn't change a value of MC, the only changes I made in MC3). Well... the result was a new MC with 9 bands and the new frequencies and an old MC with 10 bands, but old frequencies... :shock: any idea, what could have been happened?

Und was kommt dir daran komisch/falsch vor ?

Grundsätzlich sollten alle relevanten Einstellungen in der GUI vorgenommen werden (Configuration -> User Interface -> Operating Mode -> Extreme Tweaker).
Du hast das wohl zuvor falsch verstanden und stattdessen die dsp_stereo_tool.ini (Stereo Tool Configuration) mit einem Text Editor verändert, oder wie war das ?

Wichtig:
Das neue Multiband kann maximal "nur" 9 Bänder haben (gemäß der GUI).
Wenn du in der INI oder in einem STS (das sind externe Presets) einen höheren Wert wie 10 einträgst, dann ist das irrelevant - es wird ignoriert.
Entscheidend ist hierbei was in der GUI vorgegeben/verfügbar ist.
Viele andere Parameter können im STS/INI auch außerhalb der GUI Wertebereiche verwendet werden (habe da früher selbst viel herumexperimentiert).
Bloß wie schon gesagt, ist die Anzahl der Bänder davon ausgenommen !

Man kann entweder das neue oder das alte Multiband verwenden (nicht beide gleichzeitig).
Sobald man das neue Multiband in der GUI aktiviert, wird das alte (classic) deaktiviert und verschwindet auch aus der GUI.

Wenn du experimentieren willst (mit non-standard Werten bzw. dir die GUI zu lahm ist) dann editiere und speicher besser STS Presets und nicht die INI !

Was die Einstellung der Multiband Frequenzen angeht, ist es durchaus hilfreich (schneller) diese im STS zu ändern (weil es in der GUI derzeit noch arg "fummelig" und unpräzise ist).

Lösch mal vorsichtshalber die INI, dann wird automatisch eine "frische" beim nächsten Start von Stereo Tool angelegt (mit den originalen Voreinstellungen).

Multiband 3 ist neue, mit 1-9 Bände. Multiband ist alt. Mehr als 9 Bände wird im moment nicht unterstützt. Ich habe eigentlich keine Ahnung was passiert wenn man mehr als 10 Bände einstellt - aber funktionieren wird es nicht.
