i have not toyed with it, but is it possible to say, put the 6.31 GUI in the newest version of ST? that would be the ONLY way i update my ST is if i can have the 6.31 GUI. just my personal views, i LOVE the 6.31 GUI and want to keep that one.

if its possible, i just have not found how to do it.

That isn't possible, I had to stop with the old GUI because it was very inflexible. However if you can say what you don't like about the new one it might be possible to make some changes (for example, a skin that kinda looks like the old GUI, in colors at least).

Hans, I have to throw in my support behind CapStar in regards to the meters on 6.x -- at least the wide-screen, horizontal I/O meters -- being somehow more... informative.

I'll send you a PM with some expanded thoughts.

Thank you HVT and Doctor, i would LOVE the classic GUI with the new version. id tie in my thoughts with Doctor, the 6.32 has much better layout for "informative" reasons, the aesthetics to me are more well laid out for 16:9 screens.

i have a Asus laptop running a 16.0" 16:9 wide screen. and the 7.x screen just does not look the same as the 6.32

MEGA

Hm just for clarity: Are you guys talking about the overview screen or about all the sub-windows with standard Windows sliders??

im sure you remember how 6.32 looked correct?

is it possible to create this for 7.60? the info is the majority of the display, clicking a item brought up its controls. i attached it for you

Ahhhh! Yes I can do that. I thought you were talking about all the separate control screens with standard Windows sliders etc.

Making this interface is easy. (Except that clicking on something would have to open it in the same window).

Hans, I was waiting for CapStar to respond first.

My thoughts were to somehow mix the two interfaces, specifically using the larger, non-segmented meters from 6.x, as well as placing moving the scope display back to an over-under arrangement, while still using the 7.x engine, of course.

I've attached two images as suggestions. As CapStar mentioned, I tried to more efficiently use a 16 x 9 widescreen layout, and cut out wasted blank space. Please forgive my amateur cut-and-paste Paint skills (or lack of them, hah).

Thank you.

yup, this would work beautifully.

doctor, what program do you use for image capture and editing?

i use PAINT.NET

photoshop grade for budget prices ( free )

HVZ, would it be possible to say, the entire window is the combined controls and display

kind of how it is in my version, but along the lines of the modern interface method?
