Ratio per every multiband band:

Actually i did't explane what actually expect from this.
Thing is simple ..

Well if i have some song with thunder/highs bass .. i can make preset to keep that bass and even make it better, but..
if in same preset if load some flat pop/rock song, bass/low end is very high !
That's actually normal! .. because multuband is fixed to one curve/ratio (compress or limit)
Well with ratio settings .. i can make more each band how open it will be.
Image
Green line shows that fixed ratio for compress, and red line same fixed ratio for limit
Well ratio setting just moves end of line *keeping curve) .. witch makes that band to be more open ...

Settings should be maximum=current, setting like on picture (if ratio is really like on picture).. and less ratio by max no more then +5-6dB.

Ah, so basically you want limiting on the highs and compression on the lows. Sounds like a good idea. And very easy to implement. The biggest issue is actually how I can fit it in the Multiband window without making it too big for smaller (1024x768) monitors

What do you mean by "Well ratio setting just moves end of line *keeping curve) .. witch makes that band to be more open ..." - should the line keep going up? It's currently an asymptote - so it rises slower and slower, but never actually reaches a place where the result is flat.

Something like this .. with ratio settings you get more or relaxed/open compress or limit
Actually Compreess/Limit slider act like "Knee" .. so beside ratio settings it will be good that settings per band.

i Have remote PCs with 800x600 and already have that problem long time ago. Maybe you can make all smaller?

*Left: sonitus multiband compressor plugin - Only first band (around 85Hz) is bit open (which is enough), rest are more closed (like curently in StereoTool)
*Right: i added blue line

btw, if i look at graph (stereotool vs sonitus) .. seem compressor in stereotool is much more closed (if graph for stereotool is acurate)

The big difference is that Stereo Tool doesn't start flat. So that means that for low input levels, Stereo Tool is more open, for higher input levels, it's more closed. That might be difficult to use though - on the other hand, REALLY loud spikes will get compressed more which is probably better.

Can we expect this in StereoTool... 8-)

If i am right, this will give totally new dimension for processing.
