Stereo Tool 7.70 is released!

Changes:

• Added second Multiband Compressor.
• Added new Dequantizer filter to increase the bit depth of recordings.
• Added resampler for Normal Output to solve hiccups when using multiple output sound cards or virtual cables.
• Added auto-restart behavior if buffers get too full or too empty.
• Added upto 12.5 seconds of audio delay for HD radio.
• Added support for built-in GUI skins.
• Added option to show beta version number in title bar.
• RDS: Added RT+ support.
• Compressors: Made new 'Analog' compressor design based on behavior of water pressure control systems and hydraulic automatically closing doors. Sounds better and uses far less CPU.

• Compressors: Made Limit before Compress switchable in all compressor modes.
• After-AGC Singleband Compressor: Added new Analog compressor mode with new limiter.

What happened to the presets "watching a movie" and Bochas Essential?

It would be nice to know which presets are new and which have been updated.

Maybe a dumb question:

If I've made a preset in 7.60, can I expect that preset to function the same in 7.70?

Reporting the extreme usage of one thread on latest AMD Vishera CPU - FX 6300, 3 modules (3FPU/6ALU cores). One of the threads maxes out, regardless the core I throw it in (both x86 and x64 versions), I even overclocked to 4.2 GHz - no change. Second thread stays at about 50% of single core.

Preset based on Unveil FM (with comp clipper)

ST 7.70 x86/x64
Win7 Pro x64
FX 6300 @4.2GHz (50 st C max, so no throttling)
8Gb (2x4) DDR3 @1600
M5A99FX PRO R2.0

It's even worse when I use affinity settings:




INTEL is fine (even mobile older ones)



The red CPU bar in ST for processing shows ~90% for FX6300 and ~80% for i5-3210m

@Slawomir B.: Both numbers are excessive. Is it just with this one preset or with anything?

It's always the case with resource heavy presets like Unveil, especially with FM options on. Ofcourse I don't push declipper or composite clipper too much and so on (left at preset defaults)

Which inevitably points to one big question - will ST be more threaded in the future? Looks like it's about time to consider further thread-scaling...
