Not really news but if if I'm slow to respond that might be why. A new one is ordered and should arrive soon (expected tomorrow), but it may take a few days to set everything up again.

No, sorry, it will be fixed so I have a backup (which isn't such a bad idea when I'm going to places like the NAB and use it on my booth...).

This was in fact the first laptop that I ever bought (when I went to visit the NAB in 2011 I needed something :) ). 2nd generation i7 (2630QM) with 14 GB memory and 600 GB HDD. The new one will be a 4th generation i7 (4710HQ), with 16 GB memory and a 256 GB SSD and 1 TB HDD drive. And both have 192 kHz output so I can use them for testing with my FM transmitter :)

Lol, this new laptop comes with a subwoofer

Sounds like a good reason for an upgrade! :D
Out of interest, what went wrong with it?

Sounds like a great setup for a mobile StereoTool machine. :o That's close to my stand alone server for my station. It runs ST like a champ and does 1000 other things with a breeze. Enjoy it Hans! 8-) 8-)
