Sometimes spammers sign up and post their spam later, the ones I removed tonight all signed up earlier.

20 pages now. Maybe we should just stick a viagra, cialis, etc. sales thread to the top, so the spammers don't need to. :D

Would it be a solution that every new account has to be confirmed by a Forum Administrator?

Or another idea, I don't know how the automated Systems find the Forums, but could it help to Change the link to this Forum? from Forums.stereotool.com to something that doesn't contain "Forum"...?

Don't know...

Regards,
Robert

This is the worst I have ever seen it. I will update all the software to the latest versions etc. (first need to make a backup).

Changing the URL isn't really an option, any links from other sites including search engines would no longer work. And they probably just search for some standard PhpBB things.

I don't know if updating to the latest versions will help (it might not) but I'll start with that. Will also check if I can limit the number of posts that a new member can make per day or something.

In my forum i just resolve that with a question with a basic, but human understable answer.
Even captcha didn't resolve...

Yes!
Question that hardly could answered by an automated System. Or - like I mentioned - that a "trusted" user here checks These answers and has to confirm the creation of this account...
Or (to make this faster) a group of some "core- users" with permission to confirm new accounts. In this way that these users see new signed up users and can confirm the account creation. Perhaps such things are possible ith the new Software...
