Now spammers are attacking the forum again! I've seen a Russian and an Ukrainian spammer.

You should implement a better CAPTCHA system. For example, the Google's one appears to be pretty good.

I agree. reCAPTCHA by Google is pretty reliable, easy to use (just a checkbox and it works!) and is easy to setup with phpBB.
