A potential future feature request for the streaming metadata - N seconds of delay. Sometimes there is additional delay downstream and the metadata appears in the playback device a few seconds before the audio is heard. Including a user definable delay (perhaps 1 to 15 seconds) would allow the operator to adjust the metadata feed to match their signal chain.

Hans - Do you have ideas on how you'd like for the nowplaying.txt dynamic data to be formatted for MP3 metadata streaming insertion? It seems that the simple encoders only require:

Thoughts?
I am wondering this also. We use Simian as a base to send audio via VB Cables to Stereo tool in virtual environments (works great). Wondering how to get the data into ST? Does it use the RDS encoder?

Thank you in advance!

Just putting the question out there...

Anyone seeing audio out on v935-BETA008 not being controlled sporadically (overruns) and sending the output meters red/overload for a second or two? Configuration from earlier Betas are fine, hard limit output is on and yet I still see it more than any other version I have tested.

Not sure if it is just the meters being overly sensitive in display for this version or if it actually affecting the output levels (the measuring device I use is not showing anything major).

Just thought I'd put out out there before I start tweaking the configuration to try and compensate (or work out what I am doing to cause it!).

I'll look into it. I can't think of any reason why this would have changed. We didn't touch that part of the code. But I'll run a file through 9.34 and the latest beta and compare the outputs to make sure.

O, and yesterday I updated the beta to 012, with as biggest change that the CPU load of MicroMPX at higher bitrates is greatly reduced. If you ever had an issue running it at 576 kbit/s on a Raspberry Pi 3 or so, that should not longer be a problem now. Turned out that certain types of sounds could cause the CPU load to increase quite a bit, and that effect is now gone (CPU load difference between 320 and 576 kbit/s is only 4% now).

I have a couple of installations where the output graph does not go to the limit. One of them looks to be holding at about 4dB down, if that's what the marks mean.

The output is obviously being clipped to this level.

Is there an adjustment I'm missing that affects this? Everything I see available is all the way up now

That has to be that Post Amp slider.

I was hoping it would be, but the slider is at 100%.

Are you using BS412? There's a setting there that controls the max peak level.

If that's not it, please send me your preset so I can check it.

Edit: O, same thing if you're processing for AM. Asymmetry requires having headroom somewhere.

Thanks, Hans.

Will check them both & send preset, if still necessary.

Hi Hans,

Is there a linux jack link for the new beta?

Warmest Regards,
