Changes/bugfixes
  • Check licenses (LGPL etc) in all about pages
  • Use dynamic linking for Libshout. Try to get rid of "strcasecmp" in Preprocessor defined
  • Check Matt's complaint about bass distortion with new bass clipper mode -> Un-deprecated and renamed setting, removed warning, changed default.
  • GUI: Changed the range of a lot of parameters to make more sense (-99 dB for a bass clipper is useless).
  • Update preset Dutch Chocolate Moose

Changes/bugfixes
  • GML display won't open To be tested
  • Can we turn Legacy RRD off automatically when loading a preset that doesn't use FB^2 mode?
  • Composite bass clipper gets uninitialized data with certain settings -> Caused by modulator in SSB mode
  • Reported crash in 022 - Needs to be verified
  • Valgrind
  • Windows XP compatibility broken by AES67 code

Changes/bugfixes
  • Added "Legacy relative release distance" to AGC and all compressors. Turn this OFF to get the correct RRD behavior when using FB^2 mode!
  • Changed RMS size behavior in AGC, Auto EQ and all compressors! Could cause levels to never be reached, that's solved now. Sound may be slightly different! (But probably nearly always better, more consistent, less pumping).
  • MicroMPX was sending pilot when stereo coding was disabled in some situations.
  • MicroMPX 2 now works upto 576 kbit/s (decoders need to be updated if you want to go above 512!).
  • MicroMPX feed() function from Stereo Tool could crash when feeding only 1 channel (mono input file in plugin).

Changes/bugfixes
  • MicroMPX 2 table & bug @ 512 kbit WARNING, BREAKS COMPATIBILITY . So if you're using Version 2 mode (which was in beta anyway), you need to update the decoders as well.
  • AES67 add resubscribe -> Not needed, subscribe works even if the ethernet cable isn't connected at the moment of subscribing
  • AES67 wait for first packet on startup
  • Fixed another small Winamp installer issue (now looking at different registry key)

  • WatchCat move failed files to Failed broken on Windows.
  • Crash in MB1 Digital mode when going to Behavior display, and 2x Behavior visible.
  • AES67 NIC's were displayed incorrectly.

Changes/bugfixes
  • AES67 doesn't return silence when there is no signal, hangs instead.
  • AES67: Add Dante
  • AES67: Support other sample rates (by manually choosing, for now).
  • AES67: add NIC selecton
  • DSP plugin installer didn't find new Winamp 5.8. It should now find both the old and new Winamp versions.
  • GUI: Pop-up for new mouse behavior (which should become default) when you seem to try to adjust a slider very precisely
  • GUI: Red flashing of input meters - Looks fine, expect in the situation where 2 inputs are combined. Input data is oversampled so that might cause more (correctly!) reported overshoots.
  • MicroMPX: Removed extra \n's in logging
  • MicroMPX: Removed weird warnings that were sometimes shown on startup in Windows
  • MicroMPX: Increase default rate limiter setting to 100 kbit, and enable by default in Stereo Tool/SST.

Changes/bugfixes

  • CPU settings: Add mode with no affinities set
  • GUI: LLB meter showed wrong levels
  • GUI: Mouse click next to slider pos should jump there if far enough away
  • GUI: Legacy AGC hide non-legacy settings
  • Update presets: Breaking Dreams, Cerulean, Chocolate Moose
  • Fixed WatchCat file in use behavior after update
  • Check that license for MicroMPX works.

Changes/bugfixes
  • Limit/Clip etc default values are too big, no problem if we display them as OFF.
  • Slider value always returned inside range now, to avoid weird mouse wheel/cursor key behavior at extremes.
  • DCM: IB level -9 dB, lowpass 80 Hz, MB2 attacks B1/2 to 75, 50. Hoogste 2 naar -15, 17, clip -.50, +1.00. Always clip deep bass below, dynamically reduce to 100%. MB1 limit +6, MB2 limit +4, clip +3. Sloppy at 200%. Highs clipping +6, Highs Priority +6.
  • Add something to set up scheduler
  • Move scheduler to separate thread!
  • Separate bitrate settings for MicroMPX 1/2
  • Make sure that new maximum values don't cause things to be turned on!

Changes/bugfixes
  • Update slider behavior with logical step sizes and flat dB ranges
  • Holding CTRL while scrolling or using the arrow keys for sliding sliders will slow down the movement for more precise tweaking

  • # bands selections are now drop-down menus

Changes/bugfixes
  • Added toggle for improved mouse behavior - see below
  • This issue was reported: viewtopic.php?f=14&t=25882&p=58602#p58602
  • Try out if improved RMS behavior also possible for Auto EQ/Bass EQ? -> 1 value for all bands.
  • AGC 2 bands
  • Multiband lowest band can overreact with big RMS size
  • MicroMPX: Added MicroMPX 2! Warning, not compatible with MicroMPX 1 decoders (you need to update the decoders), and we have only started testing it last night
  • MicroMPX: Added reset interval for backup file
  • MicroMPX: Added demodulated audio monitoring
  • MicroMPX: Added GPS synchronization settings (incomplete, doesn't work yet)

About the new mouse behavior:
Slider behavior in Stereo Tool did not conform to how sliders usually work.
To sum up the changes that become enabled when "Old mouse behavior" is turned off in Configuration:
  • Clicking in the slider bar sets the slider to that position and allows dragging.
  • Clicking on the current position of the slider "grabs" the slider without moving it, and allows dragging.
  • Holding CTRL will significantly slow down the movement, allowing for much more precise tweaking. The same if you click the right mouse button while dragging.

Hello Hans,
This is a suggestion, would it be possible to fix in the cursors, the numbers on the one hand and on the other hand the technical terms translated on 2 levels in the cursor, because in their movements the terms are often truncated.

Hi Hans,

Would it be an option to implement an "global" checkbox for easy/quick adjusting multiple bands at once?
So you can quickly move all the sliders of let's say the limiters in multiband 1 to a certain level an from there you can finetune it?

It was an option in "Sound Solution" software, where it was called "global".

Maybe adding a choice that all the current values adjust from where they are now, or matching them with the slider you're adjusting?

Next question:
Can you make mids and highs clipping in the Advanced Distortion Protection visible with 2 small meters?

Last question: In the processing page you can quick adjust the bass, mids and highs. But you can only adjust them by large jumps. Can these be somewhat smaller maybe? I know i can do it manually in the multibands but this would be easier

Greetings and keep up the good work!!

BETA007 is available! Slider sensitivity has been updated for all sliders (if I didn't forget any).

I hope that the new slider behavior (see latest upload) is already making this easier than it was. I am trying to avoid adding more settings to the interface than what's already there (which is already quite a lot). And thresholds for example can be changed by changing the drive/output level or density drive settings.

Good idea... Yes.

The precision is 0.1 dB, that's not big? Am I missing something?

Hans, it might just be you haven't got to it yet, but the De-esser limit slider doesn't work in either new or old mouse behavior, you can have full on, full off or +7dB, it can't be adjusted to anything else.

Oops! I forgot to post them. Just added the Wndows executables, will add the Pi executables after the next build (I cancelled the latest Pi build so I don't have the most recent version).
