Changes/bugfixes
  • NANs? - Seems to have been an old (possibly beta?) version, ignoring for now...
  • Added a startup delay option (for starting with Windows, to avoid issues when drivers are not yet loaded).
  • "Winamp bug fix: Clean buffer at start of new track" no longer enabled by default in the DSP plugin.
  • Setting the Declipper option "Input can be compressed" to off does not seem to turn this setting off, instead even more samples are now marked as clipped if "MP3 dirty area" is set to 1 or more sample.
  • 64 bit stand alone installer didn't make shortcuts for installing/uninstalling Stereo Tool as a Windows service
  • Update presets (Cerulean, Chocolate Moose, JesseG)

Changes/bugfixes
  • Mac VST version could crash on close.
  • WatchCat was creating Stereo Tool instances with an internal (hidden) window, fixed.
  • WatchCat was unstable on Mac, fixed.
  • RDS group sequence does not work with only 1 item.
  • RDS Site/Encoder/DSN/PSN now shown in hexadecimal format.
  • RDS UECP ODA/ODA config/IH/EWS commands were fitered on (invalid) PSN/DSN data.
  • RDS UECP Slow Labeling Group commands were filtered on (invalid) DSN data.
  • RDS UECP parser added for unknown commands (needed since it's a binary format, we need to know where to continue).
  • RDS UECP access to EWS ID and ECC can be blocked (safety issue).

Downloads
Changes/bugfixes
  • Test NAN insert -> Works, but I did see a NAN after startup yesterday for no obvious reason...
  • Command line version 24 bit I/O, test loading of settings file
  • Empty log directory is created by MicroMPX
  • Improve RMS window position when using x16 mode
  • Adjust RMS window size for sine shape
  • Give ARM and x86 MicroMPX builds different names (they are the same now, previously uploaded ARM versions were wrong due to that)
  • Support saving settings under name of executable on Linux (Test needed)
  • Sound card sync does too little for M values far below 1! Also made it speed up faster than before when it gets further away from the center.
  • Removed unnecessary RDS threads.
  • Optimize new compressor RMS size code (Test needed, does it still build?)
  • Updated resizing of bottom part of the screen to look better if the window is not very high.
  • Check if I can make VST window less high for 1600x900 laptop screens -> Yup, now 843 -> 768, still looks good.
  • Built-in MicroMPX logs time offsets because a calculation is done with the wrong sample rate. (Test needed)
  • AGC: Check if SJP still works with RMS mode (probably not!) -> OK!
  • Heavy CPU mode seems to do very little in the AGC when using RMS size > 0 -> Disabled now.
  • Optimized big RMS size values (no need to calculate everything). Maybe useful for MB1/2?
  • Fixed threading error in RMS size code that could cause calculation errors (including NANs).

Changes/bugfixes
  • Decide what to do with RMS size in Analog Compressors. - Optimized and only for RMS/Average modes
  • Added movement inside window in AGC.
  • Do something with Dynamic Ratio. -> Removed from licensing, still need to reorder license page.
  • Remove AGC warning too low level in matrix mode
  • <0D> at end of RDS RT text not handled correctly by 1 receiver if the number of characters before it is not an even number. "TEST 1" is ok, "TEST 12" is not, "TEST 123" is ok again, "TEST 1234" is wrong. (Wrong = last character is cut off). Changed: Always adding at least 1 space before the <0D> now.

Changes/bugfixes
  • Do something with Dynamic Ratio. -> Removed from licensing (to be decided if this is a good idea)

Changes/bugfixes
  • Advanced Clipper: Added protection against very loud bass (Similar to very loud highs in 9.22)
  • RDS: Site/Encoder address filtering was looking at combinations of Site/Encoder, which was wrong, now it's checking them separately.
  • Analog Compressors: Added "RMS size" slider, which makes it possible to use true RMS detection. Not sure yet if this is useful, if not I will remove it again.

Is RMS size = 0 actual peak detection, i.e. 1 sample?

I would like to try peak compression with the same level detection curve as RMS: When a sound jumps from below the threshold to above, peak level detection goes from the threshold to the louder sound while RMS goes from the quiter sound to the louder one. The latter is what I would want to test with peak compression, too.

The way the compressor works, RMS size = 0 is the old behavior which is 1 sample which is already RMS-ish! But some people asked for *true* RMS detection. So far, the effect of setting RMS size higher seems to be very small (which is kinda good, because it means that the old detection was indeed very close to RMS). But setting is > 0 should give more accurate RMS detection.

Ow. Then something must have gone wrong, 001 is older. Please ignore that version for now. I hope the next build will fix that. (early next week, I think).

hello Hans, if I load a preset with the Bass EQ turned on and placed it before the mulitband, and then load an Equalizer part of an older preset then the Bass EQ gets moved between the multiband 1 and 2

Hm.... That must mean that I'm saving it under the wrong block in the .sts file. Not something that I can easily fix without breaking compatibility. :(
