Stereo Tool 8.51 (SEPTEMBER 13th 2017)

:!: - Version 8.50 did not run properly in Windows XP, due to a Microsoft Visual Studio 2015 bug. Workaround added.
:!: - Top (presets) part of Stereo Tool web interface could still get in a reload loop - fixed.
:!: - Memory usage slightly reduced.
:!: - SST interface colors updated.
:!: - MicroMPX now supports multiple sample rates.

Standalone v8.51 Release x32 & x64
Just tried the "Sound cards>self tests" option for the first time today. Love the sound effects when you click on "Send self test audio". :D
But, when I click on "Check self test audio" it locks up the ST program and won't let you close it, so I have to use task manager to end it. :o
I tried typing a path into the "output file path" box, but nothing happens and without any help tips for this, I'm not sure I am using it correctly.

If it locks up something must be broken. I haven't used it in a while so it might be....

How to use it, if it works:
- In the Stereo Tool instance that performs the check, type in a path to log to
- Make sure that the instance that performs the check sees the signal from the sending instance, and that both are set to 192 (or 176.4) kHz
- In the receiving instance, enable Check
- In the sending instance, enable Send

This will take a few minutes. Once the test is done the output file is written with analysis data.

Note: The sending and receiving instance can be the same!

Please test this track with this preset (if possible listen from FM out or Normal output)
Is there any voice vibration in the first 30 seconds of the track? I listen it without processing and don`t hear this.
My guess is: it cames from new features ...

If you don`t see, i clearly write to test with the preset included in the archive.

In the voice, there is vibration when the bass goes to certain frequency or level.

And because i don`t hear this in older version (without new features), i guess this is from them.

Ok I just checked and I also hear it in version 8.40 if I load this preset. Maybe slightly less (probably because the high frequencies are at a lower level). The amount of IMD relative to the audio level is not lower though.

Try this:
In the Clipper settings, under "Distortion",
- Enable 'Reduce asymmetric bass'. That helps with the "For him".
- Enable 'Reduce IMD voice vibrations' - that's made specifically to fix this type of issue!

This definitely makes it better.

If you want to fine-tune it more, tweak the bass filter frequencies (currently 80 and 200 Hz). I don't have time to look into this further right now....
