Hi all,
I have finally bit the bullet and spent some time (2 days actually... it wasn't that bad) to replace my old Windows-95 based sound card code by something newer, using a library that's also available on Mac and Linux. But before I go any further I need to know if what I wrote now doesn't break anything. Basically, settings from Stereo Tool 8.23 or older versions should work without change in this new code. But since it's impossible to test all cases (and I've already found a few unexpected things, they are fixed though) I want to get some feedback.
You might notice that WASAPI has been added to the sound card communication mechanisms, if everything is ok I'll try if I can also enable KS (Kernel Streaming) and DirectX Audio.

CHANGES:
- Removed old WINMM audio card code, replaced by PortAudio.
TODO:
- SST help
- Show low input level warning for inputs below - say - around -9 dB or so. For extended periods. Reason; I hear on a local station here that they probably have a too low input level and they didn;'t know that that was a problemn, but the sound on one of the built-in presets wasn't as consistent as it should be, and some tracks sound muffled probably due to too much noise gating.
Note: I haven't checked it yet, the code
should still work on Windows XP...
