Wes Keene - can you post your 3 presets here with new modifications?
Quote:
Yes, that is correct. The only point I would make is that channel separation and channel linking may not play together as you'd expect. If you're using channel linking, I would recommend separation just be at 100%.
Your explanation of the various modes in MB1 is spot on. RMS 1.75 exists to make it easier to convert various presets from old averaging mode to the new RMS mode, as the thresholds are 100% compatible (with squarewave input).
Now, here are some notes for you:
- Sinewaves are weighted differently between averaging mode and new RMS mode. That means you'll still probably need to do non-trivial adjustment to a preset to convert it.
- In Blue Steel's 5-band MB1, here's what I had to do to the thresholds in the new mode:
Band 1, lower by .5dB
Band 2, lower by .1dB
Band 3, raise by .1dB
Band 4, raise by .3dB
Band 5, raise by .6dB
- Obviously with different crossover configurations, those exact numbers will change. But hopefully that will give you a clue what direction to move things (and how far you might need to go) as you try to upgrade.
Enjoy the new release!
