You probably won't notice it unless you lower the Quality slider very far. I discovered an issue with it when I was trying to run a full preset (Declipper, noise gate, AGC, 2 multibands, stereo widener, stereo/rds with composite clipper) on a Raspberry Pi 3 (good news: IT WORKED! With the latest beta!).

With the Quality slider at 20%, Stokkemask strictness to 1, the clipper isn't strict enough so Hard Limit has to work hard. It was causing weird drops in the audio. I then tested further and noticed a similar problem when using it without the clipper. I have changed the behavior and now it recovers much faster if the level drops deeper.

One thing: try to turn OFF the Composite clipper when Hard Limit output is ON. You will se huge overshoots. Turn OFF the Hard Limit and overshoot is gone.

Edit: I found another two things:

1: The date is wrong, it tells today is 26th of March instead of February. (Win10, 64bit, standalone)

I tried with 8.20, it was OK but in 8.21 is wrong like all the latest versions thence.

2: After every start the "RDS Compressed" is ON even if not set. You have to turn it on and off manually and then turns off really.

I've tried it several times now with different settings, but I don't see this happening. Can you send me your settings?

Do you mean in the actual signal? (It isn't on in the GUI).

Hi Hans,

You can download it from here: ftp://aarche.no-ip.org/testFM.sts

Just turn off the composite clipper and you will see the result. Then turn off the "hard limit" and the problem gone.

Yes, exactly.

Wow - there is definitely something very wrong there. I have not seen this with my own settings so far.
It looks as if something is working at the wrong level (the signal does look tightly limited, but not at 0 dB).

Edit: Ah, it's the "Composite Limiter". That's set to 120% in your preset. (That should work, but it obviously doesn't). Default value is 100% which is why I never noticed this.

Yes, you are right. I tried to turn off things in the Limiting & Clipping section one by one but I don't find the source of this bug.

Btw does the level detector/envelope follower work in dB (as most compressors) or in %?

Is possible to add ^2 option to digital mode multiband?

Regards
