Hi,

Here's the first RC of Thimeo WatchCat, the program that Mathijs made to batch process files, either based on a watchfolder or by dragging them into WatchCat. It also converts between file types and it can do R128 normalization. If you use some scripting you can use it to process video files!

Hello Hans,

quite fine Tool, would it be possible to integrate mp2 and mp3 as output format? It would help us a lot.

That's a bit "dangerous", because MP3 is (or at least was) covered by a lot of patents. So it isn't very easy, at least from a legal perspective, to implement it directly in WatchCat.
However you're free to use your own encoder, you can call it using a post-processing command. For MP3 you can for example use LAME (though the quality isn't as good as that of the Fraunhofer encoder, at least it's easy to get).

By the way, this is the latest release based on Stereo Tool 8.23:
http://stereotool.com/download/ThimeoWa ... taller.exe

It's now also downloadable from the main download page!

I accidentally set my Stereo Tool key to the General License key and I can't remove it from there. Now it constantly reminds me that the set key is not valid. Please add a way to remove set key.

Also reinstalling the program does not reset keys!

For now you can get rid of it by manually editing the configuration file. It's probably located somewhere in C:\Users\<User Name>\AppData\Roaming, or in C:\ProgramData. There is a line in the file that contains the license key, remove the entire line (or the entire config file if you want to reset everything).

Thank you! That worked.

Also could you add the current version number to the download page so we know if it's been updated?

Because there are major bugs still present. The program crashes after a few minutes of use (not during processing, but soon after, when it's idle). It says the version is 1.0.0 beta 2. I'm using a Windows 10 Home 64-bit with a Intel Core i7-6700K CPU.

Currently, to get around this bug, I need to restart the program after each processed file.

Hi jez, can you show/send me your WatchCat settings and input/output configuration?

And what does the Windows event log show (ie what's the error message)?

Code:
[General]
MoveInputFilesAfterDropProcessing=false
RemoveInputFilesAfterDropProcessing=false
ReallyRemoveInputFilesAfterDropProcessing=0
RemoveInputFilesAfterWatchFolderProcessing=false
ReallyRemoveInputFilesAfterWatchFolderProcessing=0
DropFilesPreProcessingCommands=

[Inputs]
1\watchFolder=
1\preCommands=
size=0

[MainWindow]
size=@Size(1920 1017)
pos=@Point(-8 -8)

[Outputs]
size=1
1\processing=true
1\presetFile=C:/Users/Blackstorm/Desktop/ffdfd.sts
1\encoding=0
1\compressionLevel=0
1\normalizationEnabled=false
1\normalizationMode=0
1\normalizationTarget=@Variant(\0\0\0\x87?\x80\0\0)
1\outputDirectory=C:/Users/Blackstorm/Desktop/ST
1\postCommands=

[Processing]
MulticoreProcessing=true
NormaliseInput=false

[WatchCat]
Registered=false
License=

[StereoTool]
License=XXXX

[Output]
OverWriteExistingFiles=true
The error message is just the generic Windows error. Program has encountered an error, needs to close and Windows is searching for a solution.

It crashes like that every time I have processed a file and the program sits idle for a minute. It doesn't crash without procressing first, so it stays open without crashing for however long until I have processed a file.

So the question is: what is the program doing after it has processed and left idle?
