Stereo Tool 8.20 is released! Changes:
viewtopic.php?f=14&t=11576 This version is no longer only usable for audio files, you can now use scripting to process or normalize (R128!) audio in video's too. To be able to use the scripting you'll need a license, you can test it without a license but it will add some beep sounds. The version without scripting is free - except that you might need a Stereo Tool license if you use paid Stereo Tool options in your preset. Known issues at this moment: - R128 normalization: True Peak level might be off, because it doesn't overrule the 'Post Amp' setting yet. (Set it to 0.00 dB in your preset as a workaround). - Settings should be reset on startup (before you select a preset), that doesn't happen. - No error message shown when the license isn't accepted. - Some fonts are too small on 4K screen |

Thanks for the new version! Quote:
Compressors: Volume jumps on preset changes reduced (compressor adjusts to changing target level).
What does that mean? That ST behaves after the switching for a short moment as if the loudest possible input would have been given to it, i.e. applying full gain reduction to all compressors?

That's what it turns out did before. Which caused huge drops in some cases. And that's fixed now. |

Just noticed it on 8.20 and 8.14 and I don't know whether it's a feature or a bug - sound input from SCA, when full-spectrum input is selected won't reach Low Latency output. |

I have some suggestion to set default buffer for VLC input 0.5s or higher, now default is 0 and it's very bad. |

Use the output buffer for that! I should actually just remove that input buffer, it makes no sense.

stereo tool 8.20 running on Linux. The Normal output is now on fm_l and fm_r and not on out_l and out_r as it used to be (same in the beta 8.15) Pre-emphasized clipping/limiting can not be enabled (that works under beta 8.15) Every once in a while, the left output turns red, even with hard limiting on. Have never seen the right channel turn red. |

Why not? What's stopping you from enabling it?
