Hello Hans,
The BS.412- Limiter is broken in the 8.20.
The BS.412- Compressor's as well as the de-esser's and de-basser's reference values are way too low.
Even with dynamics setted to +5dB (max) you are not able to reach the MPX power target because of the BS.412 compressor's gain reduction. The slow response limiter does nothing at all.
The resulting (60s-) power stays 5..6dB below the target.

I've just tested it here (both with MPX output and without) and the level is between -0.1 and -0.2 dB. Can you send me your *full* settings so I can see if I missed something? There are quite a few different possible situations in which BS412 can be used, I might have missed something... (I didn't change any BS412 code for 8.20 though).

The problem is somehow related to the last Singleband compressor. If I turn that off, the level is ok again. The problem is also present in older versions (I went back to 8.00 and it behaves the same). I'll add this to the todo list for the next version.

WOOH! I have NO idea how this is possible and how nobody ever noticed it but... the BS412 limiter code was called BEFORE running the last singleband compressor. Ugh. I've moved it now, next beta should be fine.

I didn't use ST since a longer time now...
You are right, it is also on previous Versions, maybe I had different SB Settings or so, but now I remember, i always wondered why I had to raise the "Dynamics" slider to nearly +5 to bring the BS.412 Compressor into its correct operating Level...:-)

That must also mean that it has never been very tight (unless the compressor didn't do anything). It should nearly always be between -0.3 and -0.1 dB (not on speech etc, but on constant music)

Hello Hans,
The power of the pilot is not calculated by the BS.412- Measurement when you use an external stereo encoder (L/R Out) instead of using MPX Out.
Therefore the indicated power is approx. 0.8dB too less (assuming 0dbr is the target).

True. But I don't know how loud your pilot is or if you're broadcasting RDS. So I can't compensate for that, you'll have to do that yourself.

Also true,
but when you calculate the power based on the values of the correspondings sliders in ST (pilot and RDS level) even when they are inactive, it would be easier to compensate for this because you only have to measure it and set the values in ST...
In addition you now cannot compensate the measurement difference for lower values than the target...
Even calculating with fixed standard levels (pilot = 6.7kHz, RDS = 2.0kHz) it would *always* be better than calculate without both of these...
