Quick update, I messed up one of the Declipper settings which makes a big difference...

I am using the Californication song by Red Hot Chili Peppers, as it is really easy to hear the distortion and leftover grain from incorrect settings with the Lakes or North plugin. The settings I used are as follows:

[Declipper]
Amount of peak samples to remove - long term=0.310000002
Amount of peak samples to remove - short term=0.620000005
Analog input=0
Clipped if below short term margin=0.270000011
Clipped if below short term margin Enabled=0
Clipping straight line margin=0.449999988
Declip if (type)=3
Declip if type 4 long term margin=0.920000017
Definitely clipped if below (relative)=0.970000029
Do not allow restored peaks to be lower than clipped signal=0
Do not reconstruct if reconstructed signal resembles original - texture threshold=0.029999999
Do not reconstruct if reconstructed signal resembles original - threshold=0.029999999
Dynamically increase maybe clipped level=1
Dynamically increase probably clipped level=1
Enabled=1
MP3 input=1
MP3 margin=0.925000012
MP3 number of samples=1
Maximum expected distortion level=1
Maximum restored peak=4
Maybe clipped if below (relative)=0.670000017
Not clipped if below (absolute)=2040
Only declip if clipping histogram spike is symmetrical=0
Only declip if tilt can be determined=1
Probably clipped if below (relative)=0.800000012
Quality=100
Reduction precision=0.99
Tilt default level=0
Tilt level detection enabled=1
Tilt maximum adjustment per measurement=0.027777778
Tilt maximum level=0.25
Tilt minimum level=-0.25
Veil after spike down speed (dB/ms)=1.159999967
Veil margin=0.899999976
Veil normal down speed (dB/ms)=0.439999998
Veil speed drop time reduction time after spike (ms)=1.620000005

Updated preset posted which is exclusively for Stereo Tool v8.01 BETA 48. It may be the only version with a "Digital" mode compressor that doesn't prevent this preset's ideas from working correctly. See the original post for the download link. :)

Hmm, I was wondering why is there so huge demod audio (even 170%) with this preset (Composite Clipper version) but it seems you set the Asymmetry to full :D

Some distortion issues with the preset though, not sure if it's the asymmetry or what. Otherwise it's very nice indeed!

Clipper distortion... probably partly because I haven't updated the clipper settings in over a year, and things may have changed that effected the sound. Those are settings I got from Bojan that he was using for the loudest presets he was doing at the time. This preset FM versions are often -8 to -7 LKFS, so it's not exactly quiet. :) Don't be afraid to turn down the clipper drive.

Another thing that could allow that to happen more than previously is the bass peaks are less constrained by a few dB in some situations, from the Multiband's output, and the bass is a few dB louder overall as well.

Hi. I'm not a 100% sure what you mean. Will this preset work perfectly with 8.01 BETA 48 AND later versions, or just with this version ? I have v.8.12 and would like to try it.
Thanks !

It's ONLY for that version, because something was unintentionally changed with the digital mode compressor (as used in the multiband in this preset) in that specific version. I'm working on finalizing the version for the normal Stereo Tool versions.

Hello Jesse:
Could you improve Minnesota Lakes without trubass and without delossifier with the new ST features?

In my opinion, it seems that it is the only preset that improves the mp3.

Thank you!

Minnesota v0.03.29 Beta for Stereo Tool v9.21
HD: https://www.dropbox.com/s/udc3vce1y1mbv ... 9.sts?dl=1
This preset finally works how I want it to, thanks to changes in Stereo Tool (things that got removed). It sounds even more clear/pure than when I started, and very close to what I am envisioning in my head, based on my inspirations for it.

---

I only have an HD preset for you so far, since this is still in beta for a little longer. It does have FM & composite clipper settings in it, if you want to try that, but I can't guarantee it'll do what should happen yet (it actually should be pretty good though hehe). I will have FM versions coming before I'm done calling it "Beta".

By default this HD version uses the licenses for:
Declipper, Natural Dynamics, Delossifier, Advanced Clipper

If you don't have a license for Advanced Clipper (you're using a free version of ST), then please enable the Simple Clipper.

---

It would be nice to have a few opinions of this preset, if you're able to listen to it for a while (if you think that's less than 1 hour, then you need to visit Kesuke Miyagi for more lessons). It's only fair, since I've spent years creating this preset.

Enjoy =)
