Hi all,

As you can see, the list of presets in Stereo Tool is growing bigger and bigger, some presets are really old and use outdated features, so I need to remove some. Actually, I would like to remove at least half of them and just keep the best ones.

Now I can just go through the list myself and delete everything that I don't like too much, but the result of that would be that only presets that match my taste would remain. And that's probably not a good idea.

So, I want to ask you for help.

First, if there are presets that you made in Stereo Tool and you want my to remove or replace some of them, please let me know.

Furthermore, I think the best way to determine which presets to keep and which to remove would be to have some sort of a rating of presets, where high scores are more important than low ones (because there might be presets that a small number of people really like a lot and I should not remove those). What I basically need to do is remove those presets that nobody thinks are better than any of the others (even for a specific purpose). Except for that, I could also use the feedback to sort the remaining presets differently.

If you want to help, please give me feedback about the existing presets in the latest beta build (761-050). This version is nearly a release candidate, the last thing that needs to be done is fixing the preset list.

If you don't have time to check all of them but you know some presets that you like, just mention those.

You can find version 761-050 here:

Thanks! :)

Hello.
I personally really like a preset that has developed and improved lately gpagliaroli.
Specifically it is: KnockOut! - Analog Mode - By GAP.
But it seems that I only like my ...
If you could give your opinion about this preset and included in the new st.

Thank you.

I'm going through them now and removing those where something is clearly broken (might be due to updates in Stereo Tool! but anyway, as they are now they don't sound right).

So far I have removed:
Powersound - One Two Three (reason: pumping caused by loud highs due to singleband compression/limiting as final step)
D.R.Z. - Project D (pumping, gain riding, sound appears to change sometimes)
Jeroen Platenkamp - Spidey's Web (lacks fullness, something seems to be wrong but I don't know what) - EDIT - older version from 2013 was included, fixed now.

@jadipu: That preset is in the list! (I didn't put 'Analog mode' in the name but the preset is there, just called KnockOut!).

Not that I don't want to help - its just such a task, I wouldn't know quite where to start!

For a start, why not remove presets of a certain age and older? I guess you could store them online in a repository somewhere anyway?

I have - a while ago - already removed all the presets that used the Classic Multiband (except for one, Bojcha's Eu4ria, which I have now also just removed). If possible - but there are indeed so many - I would want to remove those that don't sound good, as opposed to those that are old...

Hans,

Maybe remove most of them and leave a very few as they would be needed mostly by people testing out ST. Most of us already have our presets saved as (mostly) slightly modified versions of ones that are available in this section of the forums or ones we have made ourselves and probably very rarely use the ones that are in the software.

C.

You removed the presets that I created that I wanted to suggest to remove, so that is great 8-)

Can you add double pleasure? (version 0.99 is the latest, it's attached) If I'm only looking at my own presets I think Disco Time and Double Pleasure are the only ones that needs to be included.

I would like to help, but unfortunately right now I just don't have the time to listen to all the presets.

But I do have a question regarding Analog Pleasure. This preset sounds really great, but the FM version has a lot of treble - it sounds so smashed! Totally different from the Web version of the same preset.

Is this how it's supposed to be?
