I dub my precedassor !

Due to little baby I can't enjoy night music. Earphones are not an option neither as I have to hear the baby.

Can I get appropriate StereTools settings for night time listening?

Genres I used to listen to are:

- classical
- jazz
- alternative
- funky
- vintage reggae

Please dear experienced users - if feasible - prepare some set of presets for general audience not only for professional, broadcast-oriented people. I do not stream, I do not FM. I just want to enjoy quality music compression, to listen to the music at low volume, though keeping quiet parts audible and avoid abrupt loudness.

Thank you,

You can try my latest preset. Goal is to retain source quality while flatting out dynamic range overall. Refer to the attached screenshot to see what this does, and if it will work for you.

Hmm,

It does not seem to work (all panels gone gray while applying preset file prepared the way you advised).
Would you be so kind, please, to attach a working STS file rather than listing?

Thanks ahead,
Ziggi

Try this one, it is even flatter for your needs.

Unzip first (extension .sts is not allowed).

Set your volume control to the peak of the audio.

Is the level flattened enough for you?

I'm working on evolving that, without losing "punch" so to speak.

Try this:

There's also this one, which isn't as aggressive at transient attenuation.

Nothing is ever perfect. There are always tradeoffs for processing.

Here is one which pumps much less:
