Is there a setting for the listening end of the stream? I listen to AACplus v2 SBR (not parametric) streams at 64k regularly. The broadcaster doesn't process them before the encoding. I wondered if there were a setting to try to restore and punch up the signal afterwards.

Haha... We know each other already I think. This setting is optimized for V1 (I took on the challenge to get HE-AAC at 32kbps to sound as good, if not better than Sirius XM does.) My OS X project is there, but I have to slow down the final AGC stage, and as it stands in Stereo Tool, I cannot do that - so I have no choice but to slam the final limiter slightly to avoid pumping. This does cause some artifacts.
Neural Audio has intrigued me. I'm working on three projects for HE-AAC simultaneously - one of them is a preset for Stereo Tool. You're the same aegrotatio from XMFan I'm assuming, right? Hi! In case you're wondering about the third project, the third project is in hardware.
For the listening end of the stream, there shouldn't be an issue. You should be able to use any generic preset; "Constant Volume - Increased Stereo" built into Stereo Tool, and that should do the trick. Mine tries its best to maintain source timbre, but you can never fully do that without visibility to what is coming in at the input stage of the processor, AT the output stage of the processor. That is to say, "Pre-Limiter (or AGC)", "Multiband", and "Post-Limiter (or AGC)" MUST have visibility to one another at all times to maintain timbre truly. The challenge I have, and it comes from poor habits in my broadcast engineering days - is that this preset progresses, and it gets great, and I think, "Now I just need to make it louder." Unfortunately, I often find I've made all the progress, where the end result is simply me "packing" the audio to make the average output higher.
