You two (and Hans) seem to be the smartest folks here, in my opinion...so I have a question/challenge for both of you.
I have been a user of st for a very long time, back when I worked with Steve Wolf at wolffm.com, and I read alot on this forum and have experimented with both of your presets. And come so close to finding a perfect (to me) setting. But I am no expert, so here is my request from you guys....
Big stations use optimods and other cool toys that cant be exactly duplicated for many different reasons with stereo tool, and thats cool, I get it.
But after reading several post about chaining equipment to get that perfect sound got me thinking. And Hans, forgive me if I am wrong here, but its my understanding that we can use two instances of st if its for the same station? So what I have done is using st in station playlist, I just did a copy and paste of the stereo tool dsp in the same directory and have been testing different setups with both kinda chained together.
First one is using the latest Bojcha setting (thanks!) into the 2nd stereo tool with a preset that (I forget his name now, sorry) sent me to in his words emulate a Orban 8600 Impact MX. Personally I think it sounds great to me and I like it...
Now here is my request for both you guys....lol
What would it take for you both to collaborate and make 2 settings for someone like me who is running 2 dsp's to get a better cleaner sound? The first would be a clean up sound and normalize all audio into the second dsp for a kick arse dynamic range sound that rocks any type of music?
Yes I know the delay is not good for a live station, but with station playlist and voice tracking, who cares about lag, the end user will never know.
1dsp settings = studio 1
2 dsp settings = Orban 8600 Impack MX
